CLARK LAND: Dinosaurs Island!

 

Welcome to the Land Before Time!

Go back in time and get the chance to live in a world where Dinosaurs are still roaming the Earth (And when we say "roaming" we aren't kidding. - more on that later). Dinosaur island is a 20,000 square-meter Jurassic Park nesting in the acacia trees of Clark Free Port Zone, Pampanga. The new theme park opens its doors to the outside world in August of 2012 and has since been getting all sorts of recognition from around the country.  Fun AND Facts

Ideal for School field trips and family outings, Dinosaur Island  is not only  fun and exciting  it is also wonderfully educational! Walk along the "Dino Trail" and encounter over twenty-five species of moving dinosaurs. Visit the "Fossil Museum" and learn about the Mesozoic Era, examine fossils that were left over by the dinosaurs and be dwarfed by the life-size bone reconstruction of a triceratops, and the terror of the Dino world, the infamous T-Rex! Each group that comes in is accompanied by a park Tour Guide who shares his wealth of information on the large reptiles, and what it was really like to share time and space with such massive creatures! The TWI team was lucky enough to be brought along the trails by one of the guides, and they really know their stuff!

A Philippine First

The highlight of the park is the "Dinosaur World of Fun", an area where you have the chance to get up close and personal to the prehistoric creatures! This experience is a world's first! The (for lack of a better word) costumes and mascots used by the moving dinosaurs are designed and manufactured here in our very own country! The science behind the suits was patented here in the Philippines. The foam and the plastic are light enough to be strapped on a human body and maneuvered to mimic the movements of an actual dinosaur (we do apologize for the extremely technical terms ;) ). But don't let that tidbit spoil the experience. The dinosaur mascots are so lifelike, and so convincing, they've had groups screaming and running for the exits. Seeing these extinct creatures moving about in front of you, in such a realistic manner, is bazaar yet truly amazing! Mabuhay nga naman ang talento ng mga Pinoy!
