TicketWorld Throwback Concerts

The trend has been sweeping the nation!

Every Thursday, our newsfeeds are flooded with pictures from our not so recent and recent past.

Yup, the #ThrowbackThursday or #tbt - however you like to refer to it.

It's everywhere, on Facebook, Instagram, twitter, we've even heard it thrown into an actual conversation here and there.

For some reason, every fourth day of the week (and fifth, if you happened to miss the thursday opportunity, we now have the #flashbackfriday. Yup.) we seem to love reminiscing childhood memories, horrible haircuts and even more horrible outfit choices.

If you follow us on Instagram (which you should. - hint hint ;) ) we've also joined the bandwagon and posted many a throwback.

TWI Survival Guide to this Summer's Music Festivals

Malasimbo 2013 Photo By Terrence Angsioco
OOOOKKKKAAAY. Summer 2013 is seeing A LOT of music festivals. AWESOME. It's about time. That being said, we've decided to put together a "Survival Guide" of sorts, to keep everyone happy, healthy and hippie at the upcoming events!

And we LOVE to hear your feedback! Comment, post, reply, share and let us know if this all helps! :)

So here are a couple of tips for all our event-goers out there.

BEFORE THE FESTIVAL

1. CHECK THE FESTIVAL SCHEDULE
Make sure you leave at the right time! Avoid missing your favorite acts!

2. CHECK THE WEATHER and plan accordingly!

TIP: Choose ponchos or jackets over umbrellas! You don't wanna block anyone's view. PLUS they're easier to tuck away!

We find that INSTAWEATHER PRO comes in reaaaal handy for live reports! You can trust that instagram and twitter activity will be heavy around concert and festival venues.:)

3. PARKING and TRAFFIC
How much does parking cost? Flat rate? Parking and transportation at these things can be tricky. Look up where the parking lots are and how far they are from the festival area! This will save you looooads of time! (You might even realize it's better to NOT to take a car

Check out the MMDA Application for your smart phone. It shows you the map of Metro Manila and color codes the traffic "Light", "Moderate" and "Heavy". It's a God-send! Get it even if you aren't going to the festival!

4. Also! CHECK THE FESTIVAL MAP!
Where is everything gonna be, how far? Walkable? Driveable?

5. PLAN WHAT YOU'RE GOING TO WEAR
Don't take this one too lightly! You're gnna be in these clothes for a looong time! Dress comfy! Wear the right shoes! And look good. ;)

WHAT TO BRING

You're going to be out the whole day, and you've got to be prepared! Forgetting to bring things can really be a downer. AND you don't wanna be the "oh-crap-I-forgot-mine-can-I-borrow-yours" friend.

1. YOUR TICKET/WRISTBAND
YES.It happens. Never a good time. Talk about Downer Numero Uno.

2. IDENTIFICATION
If the festival offers alcohol, they might ask for your age etc. It's always a good idea to have at least ONE piece of identification on your person!

3. CELLPHONE
Because of the number of people, cell reception can be pretty awful HOWEVER, you'd wanna take pictures, tweet, Instagram, etc.
  • When texting use affirmative statements WITH a time attached to it. (ex. Will be at Bouncy Castle at 4:30PM) Texts like "Where are you?" or "Looking for you" are just a waste of signal, and won't get you any closer to finding your friends!

  • "The Festival Guy" (link below) has some GREAT ideas for using cellphones despite not having cell reception! Check his blog out!

4. PORTABLE CHARGER  or EXTRA BATTERY
Aaaalways comes in handy. We all know how "long" our smartphones last. You'll love yourself for bringing one. If you don't have one, you can get pretty decent ones for pretty cheap. We bet you the festival won't be the last time you use it, either!

5. CASH
You don't wanna be walking a mile and a half to the closest ATM Machine. Granted they might have a machine on site,  (although odds are it won't be YOUR bank, and it'll charge you all sorts of fees) the lines can get pretty long, and you don't wanna miss out on the limited edition festival merch because you don't have bills on you.
    • Make sure the cash you bring is in a safe place!
    • TIP: DON'T put all your cash in one place so that If you lose your wallet, or something, you won't lose eeeverything.

6. SANITARY WIPES // TISSUE // HAND SANITIZER

Porta-lets. That is all.

7. PLASTIC BAG/ZIP LOCK
Things will get crazy. Things can also get wet! Doesn't hurt to bring one! They weigh NOTHING! It won't hurt to be safe. ;)

8. ECO-BAG (Any re-usable cloth bag)
Bought merchandise? doesn't fit in your fanny pack? Don't wanna lug it around? Be a boyscout.Your friends wanna keep something in it? Make THEM carry it. ;) PLUS you can fold it away when/if you don't need it!
You see them all the time now! Check these cute ones out! cute AND easy to put away!

9. SUN GLASSES
for OBVIOUS reasons

10. SMALL PICNIC BLANKET/SARONG
General admission ticket? No seats? This is the PERFECT solution! Good old fashion banig works too!

11. A CAP OR HAT
We suggest trucker caps or straw fedoras that will allow the top of your head to breath!

12. PIN LIGHTS/GLOW STICKS/OTHER FUN THINGS

For pure delight and fun.
They might sell some at the venue. but save some money and bring some of your own! Festival prices are always hiked up!

WHILE YOU'RE THERE

  • Organize a "meet up place" with you and your friends!

In such a congested area, sending texts are difficult. Before you go forth into the fun, agree on a place for you all to go if(when) you get separated from your friends!

  • On THAT note! Use the Buddy System

We've all used it since we were little. It's been around for years because it works! Stick to it!  :)

  • EXPLORE!!
Go around the site, check out the booths, you don't wanna miss out on the activities! PLUS you should probably find out where the toilets are. ;)

  • Put on some SUN BLOCK :)

Its summer time! Be safe under the sun!

  • STAY HYDRATED
SO important. Drink lots of water. This is KEY.

  • SOCIAL MEDIA

Use the official #hashtags! Facebook, Twitter and Instagram are HUGE at big events now, the promoters, the bands and the audience LOVE seeing the stream. The interaction is GREAT! ;) (PLUG: Follow the TWI Facebook/Twitter/Instagram : @TicketWorldInc.)

  • MIND YOUR MANNERS
There will be crowds of people, partying, fist pumping and dancing, a simple "Excuse Me" or "Pardon Me" is always the best way to go! Nobody likes being pushed or shoved.

  • PLEASE DON'T LITTER

there will be proper trash receptacles. USE THEM. Respect the space.:) It makes it a better experience for EVERYONE.

 And most importantly, HAVE FUN!!!!
